Arena UK Pony Premier Show

Pony riders from all over the country came together at Arena UK’s Pony Premier in Grantham, Lincolnshire last weekend. With talented ponies and riders all vying for the qualification places on offer over challenging courses, it proved to be a fabulous two days of showjumping enjoyed by everyone involved.   

HOYS 128cm Qualifier – Saturday 6th May 2017

Eloise Squibb aged 12 years-old from Brentwood, Essex topped the leader board in the HOYS 128cm Qualifier with Wyndham Tom Thumb, a 20 year-old grey gelding owned by Sarah Squibb. This pair produced the only treble clear of the class to finish in a time of 39.42 seconds. 

The top three combinations took home a place in the HOYS 128cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October.

1st Elouise Squibb & Wyndham Tom Thumb – 0/0/0 – 39.42 seconds

2nd Izabella Rodgers & Essenar Jinja Ninja – 0/0/4 – 35.93 seconds

3rd Noora Vaon Bulow & Peppino Il Grande – 0/0/4 - 39.32 seconds

Pony Foxhunter Second Round – Saturday 6th May 2017

Sixteen year-old Allana Clutterbuck from Upminster, Essex jumped in to first place on board Susan Evans’ 7 year-old bay gelding, Atomic Du Bary. This partnership crossed the finish line on their immaculate treble clear in just 37.41 seconds.

The top three combinations secured a ticket straight to October’s Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show, whilst the rider and pony placed fourth took home the chance to compete in the Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

1st Allana Clutterbuck & Atomic Du Bary – 0/0/0 – 37.41 seconds

2nd Perdita Digby & Brosna Blossom – 0/0/0 – 41.33 seconds

3rd Amelie Bush & Robin Hood Lad – 0/0/0 – 48.34 seconds

4th Anoushka Mauree & Westervelds Florijn – 0/0/4 – 48.00 seconds

5th Tobias Dean & Atlantic Hope II – 0/4 – 39.50 seconds

Pony Showjumper of the Year – Sunday 7th May 2017

Continuing her winning form Allana Clutterbuck claimed another victory this time riding Sultan Du Bary, an 11 year-old bay gelding owned by Susan Evans. This pair proved their prowess as the only combination to secure a double clear following a tense three horse jump off. Allana crossed the finish line in 42.82 seconds.

The top three went on to secure the Horse of the Year Show places available.

2nd Hannah Barker & Ammanvalley Santino –0/4 – 52.20 seconds

3rd Antonia Platt & Carnhill Luna – 0/8 – 50.25 seconds

NB: Qualifications will be updated pending official grading of results.

The Horse of the Year Show 2017 will take place from the 4th – 8th October at Birmingham’s NEC. The British Showjumping National Championships 2017 will take place during the 8th – 13th August at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC), Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
