Connolly's RED MILLS confirm three years of sponsorship of the Senior Newcomers Series

The Ireland based animal feed and nutrition company, Connolly's RED MILLS, have confirmed that they will be continuing their sponsorship of the Senior Newcomers Series and Championship for the next three years which culminates at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) at the Genting Arena, Birmingham NEC each October.

With two successful years of sponsorship already under their belt, the Connolly's RED MILLS Senior Newcomers series has proven popular amongst showjumpers. At the 2016 Horse of the Year Show, Joe Clayton added his name to the who's who of showjumping when he won the coveted title. He joined an illustrious list of previous winners that includes riders like Laura Renwick, Billy Twomey and Michael Whitaker, who took top honours in 2002.

The Connolly's RED MILLS Senior Newcomers series has two rounds in order to qualify for the Championship at Horse of the Year Show. Four double clears at the first round classes will qualify you for the second rounds, of which there are 10 held across the UK. From each of the second rounds, two will qualify for HOYS and five will qualify for the British Showjumping National Championships (BSNC), held at the NAEC Stoneleigh, in Warwickshire. At the BSNC there is then an opportunity for four more combinations to qualify for the Championship at HOYS.

Established in 1908, Connolly's RED MILLS are now in their fifth generation of family members continuing their proud family tradition. They have extensive experience in achieving the best results in terms of animal nutrition, health and performance, and some of the most successful high-performance animals in the world have been fed on Connolly's RED MILLS including the rides of Scott Brash and Bertram Allen. Despite global recognition as the leaders in animal nutrition, they still uphold their family values of serving a wide range of competitors.

Gareth Connolly, Sales & Marketing Director said “The Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Series is a fantastic platform for future showjumping stars. We are delighted to commit our sponsorship for a further three years.”

Derek Fallon, UK General Manager added “Our team are all looking forward to another busy season of showjumping. It’s a great opportunity for us to support the industry and also to meet riders throughout the country.”

Grandstand Media, organisers of both Horse of the Year Show and the British Showjumping National Championships commented “We are delighted to have Connolly's RED MILLS on board for a further three years. It presents a fantastic opportunity for the Senior Newcomers Series to develop further with its own identity as the Connolly's RED MILLS Senior Newcomers, a much sought after accolade for many up and coming showjumpers.”

Maria Haig, British Showjumping Head of Communications, added "We are extremely pleased that Connolly's RED MILLS will be continuing their alignment with the Senior Newcomers Championship. We have enjoyed two successful years of sponsorship so far and the series has proved to be a great fit for the Connolly’s RED MILLS brand as it has a large reach within the desired sport horse environment.”

Horse of the Year Show 2017 will take place from 4th – 8th October 2017. Tickets will go on sale soon for what promises to be another exceptional event. For show information, visit www.hoys.co.uk or call 02476 858205.
