Di Lampard awarded an MBE in 2017 Queen's Birthday Honours List

British Showjumping would like to extend their congratulations to Performance Manager, Di Lampard, who has been awarded an MBE in the 2017 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to equestrianism.

Di, a former British Team rider who represented Great Britain on more than fifty occasions and won a World Championship Team Bronze medal whilst also holding on to the Leading Lady Rider title for almost a decade, has worked extensively across the sport in a number roles assisting to develop it into the sport that it is today.   Whilst still competing on the international stage herself, Di took up the position of Team Coach to the international pony teams before, upon retirement from team duty, taking up the post of Consultant Head of Coaching.  Since then, Di has taken up the posts of chef d’equipe for both youth and senior teams, co-selector of nations cup and championship teams before taking on the current role of Performance Manager for Showjumping which she has held since 2015.

On her award Di commented “It’s an incredible honour to be recognised in this way and I am both delighted and surprised as a result.  At the end of the day I’m just doing my job in the best way I can and I never expected this for one moment.  I’d really like to thank my family who have supported me endlessly over the years and also British Showjumping for the support they have always given me within the roles held with them.

Iain Graham, Chief Executive for British Showjumping said “I am delighted for Di that her hard work and commitment to the sport since retiring as a British Team rider has been recognised in this way. Di has supported British Showjumping tirelessly from the assisting to deliver our training programmes across our membership through to the role that she is in today where she played an important part in Great Britain’s gold medal success at both London 2012 and Rio 2016”.
