Dodson & Horrell 0.85m and 1.05m National Amateur Second Rounds at Field House Equestrian Centre

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at Field House Equestrian Centre in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire saw seventy-five qualification seekers come out to compete across the 0.85m and 1.05m Second Rounds.

With the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 14th – 19th November, in sight, picking up one of the eight qualification places on offer in each class was at the forefront of everyone’s minds.

Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round

The forty four strong starting line-up was whittled down to twenty one highly competitive riders for the jump off and it was Erin Cullimore from Leominster, Herefordshire who stepped up the pace to cross the finish line in first place. Riding her own 20 year-old bay gelding, My Fletcher, Erin kicked on to secure a double clear in a scorching 31.67 seconds.

Scooping up second place was 15 year-old Ella Clarke from Macclesfield, Cheshire on board Laura Clarke’s 6 year-old grey gelding, Walkers Sky High. This partnership delivered a solid performance to post a double clear in 33.04 seconds.

Taking third place was Leanne Bailey who travelled from Stoke-On-Trent with her 8 year-old chestnut mare, Emora Karla SL. This pair produced a double clear in 33.76 seconds.

Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round

Building on his win at last week’s 1.10m Second Round at SouthView Equestrian Centre, Levi Critchlow added another National Amateur qualification to his belt riding his 7 year-old chestnut gelding, Valarico. This combination took on the sixteen horse jump off in fine style delivering a foot perfect double clear in 30.89 seconds.  

With a strong challenge, Lesley Mitton from Knutsford, Cheshire took second place on board Heart of Savannah, her own 12 year-old bay mare. This pair crossed the finish line with a double clear in 31.36 seconds.

Rebecca Seidl from Scarborough, North Yorkshire scooped third place with her 10 year old bay mare Quality Star. This partnership posted a double clear in 32.91 seconds.
