Dodson & Horrell 1.05m and 1.10m National Amateur Second Rounds at Allens Hill

The Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds held at Allens Hill in Pershore, Worcestershire attracted competitors from far and wide and they came forward to compete across the 1.05m and 1.10m Second Rounds.
With the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 16th – 20th November, approaching rapidly, heated competition ensued for one of the twelve qualification places on offer in each class.

Producing an astonishingly fast round, Anya Brown was the stand out winner from the sixteen horse jump off. Having travelled from Newcastle, Staffordshire with Julie Brown’s 9 year-old bay gelding, Carlos VI, the determination of this pair showed in their performance when they posted a double clear in just 31.67 seconds.
Second place was scooped up by Emily Morris from Prees, Shropshire on board her own 11 year-old chestnut gelding, Ultimatum II. As the second pair on the course, they kept their composure to deliver a double clear in 33.61 seconds.
Showing great accuracy and expertise, Anya rode her second ride Lion Heart III, a 12 year-old bay gelding owned by Julie Brown, straight into third place with a double clear in 35.87 seconds.

Dodson & Horrell 1.10m National Amateur Second Round
From second draw, Emily Morris from Prees, Shropshire asserted herself when she took first place on board her own 11 year-old chestnut gelding, Ultimatum II. Against fourteen others in the jump off, this partnership crossed the finish line on a double clear in 37.15 seconds.
Following on from her domination of the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round earlier on in the day, Anya Brown from Newcastle, Staffordshire continued her good form as she rode Julie Brown’s 12 year-old bay gelding, Lion Heart III into second place. This pair posted their double clear in 37.80 seconds.
Third place was scooped up by Mark Thompson who made the journey from Findern, Derbyshire with Michelle Yates’ 8 year-old chestnut gelding, Larino Z. This combination posted a double clear in 38.45 seconds.
