Laura Renwick & Bintang II win Vilamoura Grand Prix

Tuesday 03 October 2017

It was a phenomenal win for Laura Renwick in Portugal when she won the Vilamoura CSI 3* Grand Prix on Sunday 1st October with her own and husband John’s home produced 11 year-old bay gelding Bintang II.

A field of forty-five starters came forward to contest the 1.50m course which saw eleven jump clear in the first round to qualify for the jump-off. It was Laura though that set a standard which was unable to be matched, let alone beaten, when she stopped the clock with zero penalties to add in a time of 37.85 seconds, more than half a second faster than Lisa Nooren (NED) with VDL Groep Centora de Wallyro who finished in a time of 38.33 seconds.

Third place went to Francesca Ciriesi with Call Me Spock who finished clear in 39.74 seconds.  The next highest placed Brit was Emma Stoker who finished 8th on Bob Young’s 12 year-old mare Townhead Tallulah V.
