Max Routledge scoops Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round win at Addington Manor

Competing against a whopping 108 starters in the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Second Round at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckingham, Max Routledge scooped a first place finish with a treble clear performance.

With just two qualification places on offer for the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Championship Final, which will be held during this October’s Horse of the Year Show, each and every rider had high hopes as the class unfolded. Following two technical rounds, just five combinations were left to battle in the final jump off.

Making the journey from Godalming, Surrey, Max Routledge scooped a first place finish on board Centos Girl, a 7 year-old brown mare owned by the Sport Horse Centre Stud. This combination finished off their winning performance by leaving all the poles in place to post a treble clear in 45.04 seconds.

With the final treble clear of the class Nicole Pavitt from Crawley, West Sussex secured second place riding Diane Mindel’s 6 year-old grey gelding, Newtonhill Monaco. This partnership put in a strong challenge with a clear round in 46.44 seconds.

The riders and horses that finished in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Connolly’s RED MILLS Senior Newcomers Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
