NEW FOREST DRIVES CHANGE ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAIRWAY LEAGUE TABLE

The seventh leg of the 2010 British Showjumping Business Partnership International Stairway took place yesterday at the New Forest and Hampshire County Showground. Crowds from across the county flocked to watch the top class Showjumping on offer.

It was Tim Davies from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk that took pole position jumping the only double clear of the competition riding the 8 year old bay gelding Valentijn O owned by Barrett Watson.  Having been placed 3rd at the Suffolk County and 7th at the Royal Norfolk leg of the series this was his first win of the series in a particularly strong field securing him into a much stronger position on the leaderboard for those hoping for the Horse of The Year Show wild card that is on offer after the final competition of the series in September at the Royal Berkshire show.

Second place went to Ryan Prater riding Suzanne Heath’s 11 year old bay stallion Whisker. The pair jumped two faultless rounds but unfortunately they were just outside the time in the first round therefore incurring 1 time fault putting them just behind Tim.

Third place went to Buckinghamshire based Helen Tredwell riding her own 11 year old black mare Naomi V. This combination jumped a foot perfect first round but an unfortunate lowering of a pole in the second meant she finished on a total score of 4 just behind Ryan. Helen is currently heading the leader board on her other ride Opportunity B.
