Paul Kennedy delivers a winning performance in the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round at The Royal International Horse Show

In the prestigious setting of the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, Paul Kennedy delivered the winning round in the final Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Second Round of the season.

The pressure was on for each of the forty-two starters to claim one of the two direct qualifying tickets on offer for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show in October. A technical course saw poles fall until just nine determined combinations were left to do battle against the clock in the final jump off.

Taking the jump off in his stride, Paul Kennedy from Alkington, Whitchurch delivered the winning performance on board David Quigley’s 7 year-old bay mare, Destiny Second Life Z. This partnership kept their cool to post an unbeatable treble clear in 46.25 seconds.

Jumping into second place was Gemma Ellison from Usk, Gewnt riding her own 7 year-old liver chestnut mare, Cynthia Flint. This combination put forward a strong challenge to leave all the fences standing with the final treble clear of the class in 47.76 seconds.

With the top two taking the direct qualifying tickets for the Equitop Myoplast Senior Foxhunter Championship Final, the combinations in third to fifth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.
