Dodson & Horrell 85cm and 1.05m National Amateur Second Rounds at Bold Heath Equestrian Centre

Bold Heath Equestrian Centre in Widnes, Cheshire held the final Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Second Rounds on Sunday 28th October. Competitors were competing across the 85cm and 1.05m Second Rounds hunting down the final tickets up for grabs. Qualification for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 13th – 18th November 2018, was in everyone’s sights.

Leah Martin Collier from Worsley, Manchester took the top spot in the last Dodson & Horrell 85cm National Amateur Second Round with Miss Royal Roxy.

Half of the initial starting combinations made it through to course designer Steven Fazakerly’s eight fence jump off with six of those producing a double clear. It was Leah and Helen Collier’s 6 year-old grey mare Miss Royal Roxy who took the tightest lines to shave 0.14 of a second off her closest rival’s time. They crossed the finish line in 40.46 seconds.

Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round

Jemima Walker from Chester, Cheshire came out on top in the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round on board Carnsdale Practical Magic.

Twelve reached the jump-off over course designer Steven Fazakerly’s eleven fence track for a quick and competitive jump-off. Utilising the shortcut options on offer, Jemima found the shortest route to win by 1.7 seconds on her own 12 year-old brown mare Carnsdale Practical Magic.
