Chloe Templeton takes the Pony Foxhunter Masters

Chloe Templeton aboard seven year old bay gelding Still Got Me were the well-deserved winners of the Pony Foxhunter Masters on Day 3 of the British Showjumping National Championships 2018, making their trip down from Dunfermline in Scotland well worth the journey. At just 15 years of age, Chloe showed experience beyond her years navigating her way around the jump off accomplishing the only clear jump off course out of the eight competitors who made it through.

Commenting on her win, she said: “I knew there weren’t any clears at all in the jump-off, so I thought if I kept it fast and tight I could try and go for the clear round and then even if I had a pole down I would still be up there – I just wanted to keep it as clean as possible.”

She continued: “Star is amazing; we get on so well together and have an incredible bond. We have had him for three years now and we have never had anything like him before.  He is just insane and he jumps clear rounds all the time - he just tries to please and do his best.”

Having had an unbelievable season together so far, Chloe talks about her wins this year: “We qualified for the Pony Foxhunter at Horse of the Year Show after finishing third at Arena UK. We then went on to compete at Northcote and won the Blue Chip Pony Newcomers before heading to Scotland where we won the Pony Foxhunter qualifier again.”

Having previously competed at Horse of the Year Show 2017, Chloe already has an idea of what to expect: “We don’t really have any expectation for HOYS, we finished fourth in the Pony Foxhunter at HOYS last year but if he goes and tries his best then I am happy with that. Even if he went in and had a couple of poles, I wouldn’t be disappointed as just getting there is an achievement and I know he tried his best.”

It is not only competitors who are guaranteed a fabulous day out, the British Showjumping National Championships also offers a great family day of exciting competition, hospitality and afternoon tea offerings and a retail shopping village. Entry for spectators wishing to take advantage of this fantastic show is free and parking is only £5 per car.
