Pip Griffiths from Gloucester is December’s NAF Shining Star

Pip Griffiths has been awarded the NAF Shining Star for December after having shown passion and dedication for her sport as well as a great ethos for team spirit. This is what sets her apart as a much valued member of the British Showjumping Gloucestershire Academy.

Fourteen year-old Pip was nominated by Gloucestershire Area Representative, Suzanne Ingles, who had the following to say “Pip has been a valuable member of academy and has been on all of the teams. She has helped at all of the training with the little ones as well as at our academy and area shows. Pip works extremely hard and her ethos of being a team player is second to none, she strives to do her best at all times and her care and dedication to the sport is outstanding! I feel she is a real star for the future and an asset to our academy, nothing is ever too much ask. Pip has just taken on the ride of a new pony and is proving to be very successful, qualifying for both second rounds and other series next year whilst also helping her team to come sixth at the British Showjumping National Junior Academy Championships earlier this year.”

Lisa Field from NAF added ‘It is a real pleasure to hear about Pip, a deserving winner of this month’s Shining Star! Her hard work and passion for competing has really paid off, she is a real asset to the academy. It is so lovely to hear of her support for her team mates especially the little ones who no doubt look up to her, we wish her every success for 2019. Congratulations Pip you truly are a Shining Star!’

Pip will now receive a number of NAF Equine products to use alongside the NAF products that she is already using.

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
