Team NAF Young Riders finish 3rd in Lamprechtshausen Nations Cup

The team of four Young Riders representing Great Britain under the title sponsor banner of Team NAF in the Austrian Nations Cup competition in Lamprechtshausen held their own to finish in 3rd place behind Germany who took the win and Italy who finished in 2nd place.

The team, which was made up of the following four horses and riders all put in some solid performances between them with a notable final clear coming from Kellie Taylor in the second round in her role as anchor.

Leonie Aitkenhead, aged 21, from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire with Jimmy Mack van Berkenbroeck, a 10 year-old gelding owned by Beverley Aitkenhead posted two good rounds with just 4 penalties being picked up in each.

Tegan Jones, aged 21, from Blandford Forum, Dorset with Annaghmore Lui, her own 12 year-old chestnut gelding accrued 13 penalties in the first round with a marked improvement in the second to finish on 8 penalties having touched two fences on course.

Joseph Stockdale, aged 19, from Roade, Northamptonshire with Don Diego de Plata, a 10 year-old bay gelding owned by Laura Stockdale was making his team debut. A 10 penalty score in the first round saw them looked set to jump clear in the second before turning towards the final line where they faulted at a fence which saw his horse lose his footing and Joe dismounted resulting in elimination.

Kellie Taylor, aged 21, from Daventry, Northamptonshire with Grupello Z, an 11 year-old chestnut gelding owned by Abbie Taylor had posted 4 penalties in the first round. However, as the last to jump for the team she couldn’t have been more pleased with her round when she jumped clear in round two to assure GB of a 3rd place finish.
