From a starting field of fifty-four combinations Great Britain secured two of the top three placings in this afternoon’s CSI 3* Sunshine Tour Grand Prix at Vejer de la Frontera, Spain.

Hosted in the David Broome Arena, it was Jake Saywell who took 2nd place behind winner Richard Howley (IRE) and Chinook who delivered the fastest clear in a time of 73.18 seconds.   Jake, aboard Rachel Gascoine’s consistent 12 year-old mare Havinia van de Roshoeve, stopped the clock on a zero penalty score in 71.11 seconds to take 2nd place ahead of Jodie Hall-McAteer on Salt’n Peppa owned by Ashford Farming Ltd.

Jodie, who is currently on a gap year, rode the 10 year-old gelding to a foot perfect double clear in 75.50 seconds to secure 3rd place ahead of Eric van der Vleuten (NED) and Stella Rohicke (SWE) who were the only two other riders to jump double clear.
