RIDER

Gemma Dickens (82676) - Total number of votes: 10

Proposed by Nicola Dawson (67839) Seconded by Melissa Harvey (131683)

Resume:  I have been a member of British Showjumping since I was 12.  I competed as a Junior, producing my ponies from Novice to National level, later producing my horses from Novice to International as a Young Rider.  I then took a break from the sport to travel and study for a career as a Chartered Accountant.  Now at management level in my career, I returned to competition three years ago with success on both Amateur and Novice horses.  My diverse experience in showjumping enables me to understand the different challenges and priorities faced by riders, owners, officials, show organisers and sponsors.  Together with my business experience I believe I can contribute to the growth and success of the sport.  I am passionate about showjumping and interested in hearing the views of all parties.  It is important to me that we all work together to develop a bright future for British Showjumping.

Nicola Roe (69037) - Total number of votes: 12

Proposed by Debbie Clark (103677)  Seconded by Elizabeth Elliott (133631)

Resume:  I have competed with British Showjumping since 1992. I am extremely committed to the sport and have competed at a relatively high level.  I currently have a team of horses and compete every weekend at shows throughout the country.  I have competed at a number of excellent venues including HOYS, Hickstead, Blue Chip Championship, National Amateur finals and the BSJA festival.

I fund my sport by my career as a Solicitor.  I communicate well with people and have a likeable nature.  In my role I represent the views of clients daily.  I am also a strong advocate, representing clients at Tribunals.  I believe the above qualities that I possess along with my experience of show jumping makes me an ideal candidate to represent the views of the East Midlands.  I will give 100% to the role as I do in all areas of my life.
