Congratulations to Derbyshire's Nicola Roe

Congratulations to Derbyshire's Nicola Roe who qualified Sockburn Impeccable (Impy) for the bronze league final.  Nicola came 6th in the bronze qualifier at Keysoe in August and is now looking forwards to competing at HOYS!
 
Nicola and Impy have just returned from Scope where they were part of the Derbyshire Team (placed 2nd and pictured), Nicola said:  'Impy was produced by Mark Thompson who had him from a 3yo and competed him up to 1m30 level with a lot of success.  Mark asked if I would like to jump him back in 2009, I jumped at the chance!  After a lot of persuasion my mum helped me buy Impy from Mark in 2012.  Impy is a sharp and sensitive horse, providing that he has confidence in the rider he tries his heart out.  I jump him up to 1m20 but also do metre speed classes with him as this allows him to maintain his confidence.  He really enjoys his job.  He has been ultra consistent since I have had him winning lots of classes including wins and good placings at Aintree (a venue that he loves).
 
In April of this year we couldn't understand why Impy wasn't jumping well (as the saying goes good horses don't become bad overnight!)  at the Blue Chip Championship 2014 he wouldn't even let me get on him.  We later found out that he had trouble with stomach ulcers.  Since then we have given him coligone and he has won pretty much every week. 
 
I work as a Solicitor in the day but horses are my life - the job pays the bills.  The last time I went to HOYS was in 1996 in the Christy Beufort final on a good 148cm pony Woodhouse half n half.  Woody was either fantastic or awful, that day she was the latter and threw me off at the first fence!  Hoping I can do a little better this time!'
