Norfolk Show Jumping Club Sunday June 17th
Norfolk Show Jumping Club hosted the Netley Hall Pony Discovery Second Round at Cherry Bee Farm, Hainford on Sunday June 17th. The weather was at last kind and the going was perfect. Gracie Turnbull & Teasell II made the four hour drive and overnight stay worthwhile with a copybook treble clear to win the class. From fifteen starters, eleven achieved clear rounds, over a course which included the new wall and the wishing wells – all well decorated, to go forward to the second round. The raised fences halved the field and six contested the final timed jump-off. Eve Morris, who qualified both her ponies, started the jump-off with a good steady clear but the times got faster and faster until , drawn second to last Gracie Turnbull, already third in the warm-up class, rode some brilliant turns with Teasell II to take the class. Ten combinations will now go forward to the Victory-Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival.
Meanwhile in the Senior Ring there was another opportunity to qualify for the Victory-Shavings British Showjumping Scope Festival in the 1.05 Auto Stop Adventurer. Eight riders contested the jump-off for six qualifying places. Kevin Smith with his latest acquisition, Deblyn Solitaire took the class by two seconds from Southwold based, Ellie Doy riding Temple Hardy. Ruby Pointer and her own, home-produced Berries Farm Zac was pleased to be a very close third. Lizzie Gray, Philippa Castro and Bethany Moore also qualified.
