Norfolk Show Jumping Club British Showjumping Report & Results 5/6 November 2011

On the 5th November 2011 Norfolk Showjumping Club held their second show of the winter season at Humberstone Farm. Both the KBIS British Novice & Equisage Discovery were won by Jo Masterson and Deidre Hunt’s,Chilham Temple Bar. In the 1.0m National Amateur Qualifier some daring turns were taken by all the competitors but the only double clear was achieved by Artiste Eile & Dawn Bloyce who was very pleased after her third placing in the Equisage Discovery on her up-coming horse Lola Lady. Artiste Eile a 9 year 16hh gelding who Dawn has owned for 18 months has already qualified for the Amateur finals at Aintree. Fiona Hirst riding Castle Douglass a 5 year old bought from the Goresbridge sales, took the 1.05m Open. The Equestrian Clearance.com Senior Newcomers was won by John Garret and Petit Pistolet,a 15.2hh, 9 year old who raced until she was 7. John has brought her on to win the Retraining of Racehorses’ regional points and to come 4thnationally. A tricky course was set for the 1.15m Open with only two clears, the winner was Lizzie Grey riding Zaracossa, a 16.2hh, 7 year old who she has had for 3 years and her biggest success with her was qualifying for Blue Chip. The last class, the Horse and Hound Foxhunter/1.20m Open was won by Caroline Fitzallen-Howard on Valeska, a 16.1hh, 9 year old which has just had a foal.
The 6th November 2011 brought 42 ponies to Humberstone Farm. The first class, a 0.70m Un-affiliated Open was won by Molly Harris on Rascal. The 0.75m Open had some daring turns performed by Charlotte Peasley on Lee Smith’s 5 year old,Quaife Miracle but the class was won by a slightly  quicker round from Isabella Latham riding Rosie White,  Her 13 year old grey mare who she has owned for a year and a half and Isabella hopes to be doing bigger things with in the future. Nissi Ladell won the British Novice riding Midnight Magic, a 7 year old who she has owned for 2 years. In the Power & Speed class there were some very daring rounds throughout but the fastest was Ruth Gayton riding Just Malcolm who also won the Pony Discovery/0.90m Open. The Winter 128/138 Handicap was won by Georgia Catermole riding The Beepster her partner of  two and a half years. The Beepster is 13 and Georgia’s proudest moment with him was getting a double clear at POYS. The Newcomers/1.0m Open was a testing course and the only double clear was achieved by Shannon Smith riding Pretty Mate who she has had from the start of the summer and has done extremely well with. The final class of the weekend, the Squib Demolition Pony Foxhunter/1.10 Open was won by Katie Thurtle riding Aerial Express.
