Blair Castle International Horse Trials, host to this year's FEI European Young Rider Eventing Championships, are delighted to announe three days of British Showjumping action at this year's event. With over 25 classes from Discovery through to Grand Prix, and a prize fund of over £7,250 there is sure to be a class to suit everyone.

Following the success of last year’s new show jumping arena, creating a great atmosphere, there will be a new spectators grandstand to ensure the atmosphere is even better! In addition to this a horse exercise track is going to be provided to let you and your horse relax and enjoy the views of Blair Castle when you are not competing. Show jumpers have the opportunity to book on site stabling so that those staying can relax with friends and enjoy the evening entertainment during the event which this year include a ceilidh, hog roast with live band and disco. In between classes take time out to browse through nearly 200 trade stands, cheer on the lurchers at the Bruadar Country Fair and be tempted by the delicious range of delights available at the Food Hall.

This year we will also be offering competitors the chance to make the most of their journey and enjoy a ‚Sunday Special? entry fee. Any horse which is entered and jumps in at least two classes per day will be entitled to a 50% reduction on its entry fee in its Final or, if not in a ‘Final’ competition any one competition that it chooses to compete in, on Sunday 21st August.

With all this on offer there is sure to be something for everyone at this year’s event. Download the schedule at http://www.blairhorsetrials.co.uk/competitors.cfm and we look forward to welcoming you to Blair in August!

Notes to Editors

Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair is Scotland’s leading equestrian event. Held over four days each August (18-21 August 2011), the event attracts over 40,000 visitors and 1,200 horses to the grounds of Blair Castle in Highland Perthshire.

Four international eventing classes attract the world’s leading riders and their horses, in a bid to qualify for CCI4* and the London 2012 Olympics. This year Blair will also host the FEI European Young Rider Eventing Championships, where the best of Europe’s 18-21 year old riders will contest the medals. National working hunter and showing championships also take place, alongside three days of British Showjumping.

Almost 200 trade stands provide fantastic retail therapy, with everything from bespoke jewellery and fine art to 4x4s and horseboxes on offer.

The Bruadar Country Fair takes place on Saturday and Sunday, with all sorts of displays of both traditional and more modern countryside pursuits.
