Cumbria’s Richard Nichol jumps to victory in the Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round at the Ian Stark Equestrian Centre
With an effortless performance, Richard Nichol from Carlisle, Cumbria jumped to victory on Sunday in the Dodson & Horrell 0.85m National Amateur Second Round held at the Ian Stark Equestrian Centre in Selkirk, Scotland.
As the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool between the 14th – 19th November, loom ever closer, qualification was at the forefront of everyone’s minds.
Riding his own 12 year-old grey gelding, Arland H, Richard demonstrated their ability as he steered them straight in to first place. This pair posted a double clear in an impressive 36.97 seconds.
Taking second place was 17 year-old Persia Bhatia from Peeblesshire, Scotland and she rode Catriona Bhatia’s 14 year-old black mare Molly XIII to a double clear in 38.08 seconds.
Fourteen year-old Ben Fairbrother from Denny, Stirlingshire took third place with the final double clear of the class. Riding Winnie VII, a 14 year-old bay mare owned by Joanne Fairbrother, Ben crossed the finish line in 41.74 seconds.
