JEANNE BULLOCK - NEW AREA REP FOR LANCASHIRE

I have been married to John for almost 36 years with 4 children and 10 grandchildren. I started judging BS shows when our two youngest children Jessica and Jared began competing in ponies. I have had the pleasure of judging and commentating at many wonderful venues and working with lots of great judges both local and further afield. Most memorable time competing in BS for us has to be our time in 138cm ponies, junior jumping and HPI’s – which got us hooked immediately.

We competed all over Great Britain and made many lasting friends. We recently retired our amazing 26 year old 138cm pony Fred and now have a new project – a young horse – Jak - who is just about to embark on his BS career. I also have young granddaughters who are beginning their riding careers and are aiming one day to compete in BS.

In the early years I worked in education in both primary and secondary, but decided to join our successful family transport and training company as secretary and director, which is expanding year on year.

Not widely known is I am a musician and a make-up artist  - two things that you think couldn’t be further away from horses.  In my spare time I enjoy travelling, cruising, reading and karaoke.

I am really excited to accept the post of Area 17 Representative for British Showjumping and hope that in my term of office I can help raise the profile of this great area.  I am aiming to get out and about in the area and visit all the centres and I look forward to working with both existing and new members, the RDO, show centres, the new area committee and profiling both Junior and Senior Academies.
