KINGSBARN £10 SALE SHOW A HUGE SUCCESS!!

Kingsbarn Equestrian Centre held their £10 sale Show at the weekend which this was a huge success, drawing in riders from far and wide.  Ellen Whitaker won the 1.40m Grand Prix on the Sunday (sponsored by Aurora Hotels collection) taking the £600 prize riding Norman Oley’s Arena UK Lando III in a time of 35.67sec. She snatched victory by a full 2 seconds ahead of Greg Taylor who had just taken the lead riding Jackie Kemp’s Wonder Van De Roshoeve in a time of 37.67sec. James Smith came 3rd riding Leona Smith’s Cumina after taking an early lead with a time of 37.71sec. Ellen Whitaker also came 4th riding Examina. All went clear.

In Sunday’s 1.30m open, James Smith won the class riding Leona Smith’s Winday II with a double clear time of 26.92sec. Ellen Whitaker had taken an early lead with a double clear time of 27.48sec riding Dawn Makin’s Safanna but was eventually pushed in to 3rd place after Aileen Craig snatch second spot with a time of 27.16sec riding Billy Mckenzie’s Quiberon D. James also qualified for Scope.

Friday’s 1.30m open championship was very close. Greg Taylor eventually took victory with Jackie Kemp’s Dutchman 38 with a clear round time of 23.61sec just 2/10th sec ahead of James Smith riding Leona Smith’s Winday II with a time of 23.83sec. Ellen Whitaker took 3rd riding Normal Oley’s Arena UK Lando III.

The whole event was very well attended and Class sizes ranged from 20 up to 65 with the foxhunter/1.20m open classes being split due to numbers. The high attendance was helped by the £10 entry fee for all classes.
