Rob Hoekstra selects squad for Aachen Nations Cup!
World Class Performance Manager for Showjumping has announced which squad of five will join him out in Germany for the Aachen Top Level Nations Cup. A show renown for its big scopey fences, it will test every nation to the maximum. The Show will take place between 12th and 17th July, w...ith the Nations Cup taking place on Thursday 14th July at 19:30hh. The Grand Prix commences on Sunday 17th July at 13:00hh.
Scott Brash from Scotland will ride his father’s (Stanley) twelve year old black gelding, Intertoy Z. As a combination they have gone from strength to strength since their first appearance at this level last year in La Baule. This year they have jumped on the St Gallen Nations Cup team where they produced a double clear.
Warwickshire’s Nick Skelton will ride Beverley Widdowson’s ten year old grey gelding Carlo. Carlo has joined Nick on three Top Level Nation Cups this year and has jumped consistently throughout.
Both Michael and Ellen Whitaker will be making the journey out to Germany this week. Ellen who is based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire will partner Equimax Ocolado, a horse her father (Steven) jointly owns with Equimax and Dawn Makin. Michael who lives in Nottingham will ride Beatrice Merten’s World Cup Qualifying horse Amai II. This will be the pair’s first appearance at this level for 2011.
Britain’s number one Guy Williams will also join the above riders. The Kent based rider will partner Lindsay Doran’s eight year old grey gelding, Depardieu Vant Kiezelhof who also joined Guy in the Lummen Nations Cup.
