SCOTLAND'S CHARLOTTE GEDDES AND CHENTO D QUALIFY FOR THE NEW SILVER LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP AT HOYS 2014.

Congratulations to 18 year old Charlotte Geddes and Chento D, owned by Emma Geddes, in qualifying for HOYS 2014 in the first year of the new Silver League which was launched in April 2014 with a qualification structure that will allow eligible horse and rider combinations to qualify for a Semi Final and the chance of a ticket for the Horse of the Year Show Final. 

Charlotte is delighted to qualify and tells us a little about how the combination worked together in order to achieve this goal:

"Chento is a 7 year old gelding by Indoctro, I have had him since he was just broken at 4 years old when I was 15 and brought him through the grades to this year qualifying for Foxhunter, Grade C and Amateur finals at Royal Highland Show, coming 6th in the Foxhunter. Also we were placed in three Newcomer 2nd rounds before qualifying at Bishop Burton for the Silver League final at HOYS.

It has been my goal to qualify a horse that I have produced myself for HOYS, and have achieved that, so I am proud of my little horse Chento, I knew he would be talented but he was very tricky to start off with as a green 5 year old. In the early days I had help from Isabel and Jack Mc Goech and recently from James Smith, so thankyou to them for their input.

Silver Regional League allows riders jumping1.10m - 1.30m the chance to qualify for HOYS.
The Silver League Championships will be run as a handicap competition at Horse of the Year Show. A total of fourteen horse/rider combinations will qualify for the Championships.
The Final will be run under Table A10 and the heights for the Championship Finals will be as follows: Silver League Final – 1.25m max in the first round
