SCOTLAND’S JUNIOR ACADEMIES

The seven Junior Academies in Scotland are now in full swing and with over a staggering one hundred members now recruited and growing every month we are certainly on the right path of training for our existing and future Junior stars.

As of the 1st April 2012 every Academy Coach will begin to put their members through the NAF 5* Awards system which will give these young riders structure and progression through their training.  Also every month each Academy Coach will nominate a member for the Shining Star Award which is also sponsored by NAF to allow Academy members to show off their achievements.  This lucky individual will receive a certificate, some goodies from NAF and press release coverage announcing their win.

Another new initiative which the Junior Academies will benefit from is the Work Based Modern Apprenticeships now offered by British Showjumping in partnership with the training provider Haddon Training.  The core focus of this is to assist individuals, who have opted to work within an equestrian environment, gain formal qualifications which may promote them in their career development. For more information on this please contact the Development Officer, Lucy Brindley.

- Perthshire (Gleneagles EC) – March 21st & 22nd/April 18th & 19th 2012
