SCOTTISH ACADEMY CAMPS & QUALIFIED RIDERS 2019

That’s the two Scottish Academy Camps over for another year, the Horse Camp hosting 27 combinations and the Pony Camp at full capacity with 60.

Both camps were fantastic, a big thank you to all who attended to make them so much fun.

The camps consisted of two days intensive training, ridden and off horse, with evening activities at the Flip Out trampoline park, Imotox indoor electric bike arena and the ever popular Time Capsule Waterpark. Followed by a show on the third day to finish and for those wishing to qualify for the Inter Academy Final at Stoneleigh Park.

Thank you to Morris EC for allowing us full use of their facilities over the two weeks, and to all the staff for working long hours to ensure we were all fed, watered and looked after.

Thank you to our superb coaches, Andrew Wilson, Andrew Hamilton, John Cameron, Aileen Craig and Karon Carson for their brilliant coaching, and to the off horse sessions from, Steward – Kaz McCoy, Vet – Anne Logan, Feed – Liz Smith, Anti-Doping – Craig Blackie, Fitness – Lindsay Johnson & Adele Cochrane, World Horse Welfare, Vet – Chris Calder, and of course to Gillian McFadyen for covering plaiting & trimming and the infamous rosette making.

The show days ran perfectly with our Level 1 Course Designer, Andrew Wilson and Judges, Craig Blackie, George Blackie & Heather Blackie, thank you to all.

Finally, a huge thank you to the team that help put the camps together, so much work goes into organising these each year and I couldn’t do it without them, Marjory McNaughton, Gillian McFadyen and Anne Morris.

Congratulations to all the qualified riders, who will be joining me at Stoneleigh Park for the Inter Academy Final on the 12th & 13th August 2019 representing Scotland.
