SCOTTISH CAT 1 & CAT 2 SHOWS – SCOTLAND:

The Scottish Venues after trying the initial rule change of adding in British Novice, Discovery and Newcomers to the Category 1 shows, did not feel it was working as when running a Category 1 and 2 show in the central belt in Scotland on the same day with the same National classes they were diluting their numbers.  It was agreed at first by the Venues to take out the British Novice, Discovery and Newcomers from the Category 1 shows and concentrate on the Opens and Amateur classes.  However some venues and members felt this was not working and would like to put the National classes back into Category 1 shows so it was agreed by the venues to work on a case by case basis depending where in Scotland the venues were running a Category 1 and 2 show as to which classes they would run.  For example if SNEC (Cat 1) and Highfield (Cat 2) had these on the same day, SNEC would not have British Novice & Discovery and Highfield would not run small opens or vice versa depending if they were running one or two days.  This does not affect the North venues, Cabin and Tillyoch as they are far enough away from other venues.  If any venues were happy to run all National and Open classes on the same day and weekend they agreed this at the dates meeting between each other.

 

THE NEW SYSTEM FOR THE CATEGORY 1 SHOWS STARTED FROM 1ST OCTOBER 2016 AS AGREED AND REQUESTED BY VENUES - THEREFORE WE WILL REVIEW THESE AGAIN IN MARCH 2017 AT THE NEXT DATES MEETING.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  VENUES TO ADVERTISE IN ADVANCE ON THEIR WEBSITES WHEN THE ABOVE CHANGES ARE TAKING PLACE ON THEIR SCHEDULES TO LET THE COMPETITORS KNOW WHICH CLASSES WILL NOT BE INCLUDED
