 Vacancies for Chair and Directors of the Board of horsescotland

horsescotland is the recognised governing body for equestrian sport and industry in Scotland.  The vision that we share with our members is:

To enable those in our sport and sector, by supporting their development, to excel in what they do best…

The key outcomes for Scottish equestrianism are to:

·         Increase the overall levels of participation and equestrian activity in Scotland

·         Enable Scottish riders, drivers, vaulters and equines to excel on the world stage

·         Support horsescotland member bodies to flourish by working collaboratively

The positions available are Chair, Director of Finance and Directors, which will be nominated for election at the AGM on Thursday 25 April 2013 and serve a term of three years with the opportunity for re-election at that point. The positions are voluntary and unpaid.

The Chair is responsible for ensuring the Board efficiently administers the affairs of horsescotland, providing effective leadership, formulating strategy and representing the views of horsescotland.

The Director of Finance is responsible for supervising the financial management of horsescotland. Skills and qualification requirements include a professional qualification with a working knowledge of budget forecasting, audit control and financial systems and review.

Directors of the Board are responsible for the delivery of horsescotland’s Strategic Plan 2013 - 2016 and implementation of the annual Operational Plan.

Nominations are hereby sought for vacancies that fall in April 2013.  Candidates should be passionate about equestrian sport and industry with relevant expertise in business development and management, including marketing and public relations, or be experienced in the public and voluntary sectors.
