WILLIE SHERET - BOOK LAUNCH SAT 29TH OCTOBER 2016 AT CABIN EC

Kintore pensioner Willie Sheret has written his debut book at the age of 88. Sheret, who has over 25,000 followers on his Facebook pages, decided in 2014 that he wanted to share his knowledge with as many aspiring show jumpers as possible and refused to let age be a barrier. The book 'Keep Going Clear! A Guide to Better Showjumping' is a collection of Willie's show jumping philosophies, experiences and principles with the foreword written by double Olympic show jumper Geoff Billington.

"I've been involved with horses and showjumping for almost 80 years and teaching is my passion. I love working with people who are keen to learn and I still teach all over the UK. It's fantastic to see them develop. I get more satisfaction from that than anything else. " said Willie, who received an MBE for Services to Showjumping in Scotland from The Queen in 2005. " Writing the book means I can hopefully help more people and that's the most exiting aspect for me. I also like the fact it shows that just because you’re a pensioner you don’t have to stop achieving new goals. "

The book launch will be at The Cabin Equestrian Centre near Inverurie on Saturday 29th October at 7pm. Entry is free and Willie will be talking about his career and signing copies of his book.
