Georgia Tame Takes Under 25’s Championship

TWENTY-one-year-old Georgia Tame and the huge striding Jeff Ten Halven overcame Tom Holden’s technical course to win the John Oates Horseboxes Under 25’s Championships.

On the fourth day of the Equitop Bolesworth Young Horse Championships the Castle Arena saw just Georgia and James Winter go clear in the first round.

South Wales-based James and the scopey Garande were jumping well until a lapse of concentration saw him jump the wrong course.

This left a win wide open for Georgia and, in the form she has shown all week, a clear run continued with the giant that is, Jeff Ten Halven.

His ability and talent is all there and Georgia, based at Hickstead with Shane Breen, was full of praise for the bay gelding.

Said Georgia: “I jumped him for the first time last week at the British Showjumping National Championships just to get used to him.

“He has gone really well and has so much scope, my job is just to contain him and ask him to wait for the fences.

“Shane rode him at Royal Windsor and Bolesworth International in June and will no doubt want him back.

“I rode him for two hours his morning just to keep him chilled and relaxed. The course made you think and ride every stride, I couldn’t be more pleased.”
