Dodson & Horrell 85cm and 1.05m National Amateur Second Rounds at Moores Farm Equestrian Centre

Moores Farm Equestrian Centre held Dodson & Horrell 85cm and 1.05m National Amateur Second Rounds on Sunday. With qualification for the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships, held at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool during the 13 – 18 November, at the forefront of everyone’s minds, a competitive day unfolded.

Dodson & Horrell 85cm National Amateur Second Round

Henrietta Howse claimed the win in the Dodson & Horrell 85cm National Amateur Second Round on Ox Mountain Eagle.

Twelve of the initial sixteen pairings made it through to the jump off and it was Henrietta Howse from Brinkworth, Chippenham who emerged victorious on board her own 15-year-old chestnut gelding Ox Mountain Eagle. Knowing that time would be of the essence, Henrietta put her foot down and steered her ride to a double clear in 30.81 seconds.

Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round

Kieran Moss from Salisbury, Wiltshire headed the Dodson & Horrell 1.05m National Amateur Second Round second round with his own 7 year-old bay mare Grabiella.

Three-quarters of the initial starters made it through course designer’s Kevin Bull’s 11-fence-track to make the jump-off. Kieran and Grabiella took all the shortcuts on offer and won by an impressive 8.21 seconds.
