Norman Proffitt (15088) - Total number of votes: 23

Proposed by Nina Emery (16688) Seconded by Tracy Hicken (24243)

Resume: I have been a successful Jumping member for 45 years riding and producing horses for owners from Novice to Grade A and competing successfully at all levels.  An active committee member and organiser of the very successful Cheshire Jumping Club when living in North Wales and the Cheshire for 15 years in the late seventies and eighties.  Campaigned at as many meetings as I could attend to push for a minimum first prize of £50 in Foxhunter competitions (tried for £50 in Newcomers.  Suggested in writing that a points system taking the average first prize of any novice competition to be points awarded to the horse instead of prize money.  Therefore, no matter how much the first prize was horses would not jump out of the class too quickly.  This after a few years became actual and notional prize money.  Now after all the Grade A horses have either been sold or retired I have some very nice new horses which are currently competing in the higher level of Amateur and veteran classes.

SHOW ORGANISER

Helen Wells (30713) - Unopposed

Proposed by Nicola Davies (122760)  Seconded by David Coombs Gyde (95798)

I am the owner /organiser of Weston Lawns Equestrian Centre along with my husband, Mark.  I have been a member of British Showjumping for over 30 years and have enjoyed many days as a keen competitor.  Much of my time is now spent organising and running shows at this premier venue and I still compete when I can.  In the past I have been on British Showjumping’s Rules Committee and have been Area Representative.  Prior to that I was shows, judges and rules Director at British Dressage and organised International Dressage at Horse of the Year Show and Goodwood.  I believe I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of what competitors want and expect of shows as I have seen from both sides.  I would welcome the opportunity to be able to help British Showjumping move forward and most importantly, for the membership and organisers, to feel they have fair representation.
