Excel Talent Riders Programme

Excel Talent Programme (riders)

Sport England funded.


The programme provides the opportunity to have access to top equestrian specialists including: coaches, physiotherapists, psychologists, vets and nutritionists via a series of rider performance camps. Riders are expected to attend up to three 2 day training camps each year plus other one day events.             

Riders remain on the programme for two years providing they achieve goals and targets set as part of the programme performance review process.




Eligible to compete for Great Britain and hold a current British passport.

Full competing members of British Showjumping on selection and reside in England.


14 – 15 years: To have jumped two double clear on a horse at 1.20 m or above

16 – 18 years: Minimum of 2 double clear rounds in National/International 1.30m classes and above.

19 – 21 years: Minimum of 2 double clear rounds in National/International 1.40m classes and above.

22 – 24 years: Minimum of 2 double clears in 1.45+ or been placed in top 10 at a 2* Grand Prix                    British Equestrian Federation (BEF)
