But when I saw the Board position become available I felt it important that I put myself forward for it and I am extremely pleased to have been awarded it.  My areas of speciality lie in equine lameness, poor performance and orthopaedic surgery, particularly in sport horses, and I advise on sports medicine issues and optimising performance.  I am looking forward to being able to work across all levels of the sport with a view to ensuring we are doing all we can to safeguard that horses are being competed comfortably and with longevity and optimal performance in mind”.
