Holly Smith is Unstoppable as She Wins the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Weston Lawns

At the halfway point in the qualifying period, Weston Lawns were next to host the Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Second Round at their Summer Spectacular Show.

A total of 37 horse and rider combinations came forward over Kevin Bull’s 1.30m first round track, with nine successfully advancing to the final jump-off.

Despite being drawn first to jump, Holly Smith once again proved to be unstoppable as she rode T J Hall Ltd’s Sing Z, swiftly around the shortened course, and with some fast combinations following her, set the target to chase.

Not for the first time this season, Holly’s performance could not be matched as she finished 9.65 seconds ahead of second place Tatiane Mauree, who was riding her own Jantuscha. Tatiane opted for accuracy over speed and produced the only other triple clear of the class to finish second.

This win means Holly has now picked up her ninth ticket to the Horse of the Year Show and will also contend the Grade C Final and the Events Through A Lens Talent Seeker Final with the talented seven-year-old gelding, known as Freddie at home.

Lauren Roach slotted into third on Kerry Grimster’s Louisiana-S, the pair recording the fastest time of the class, 1.54 seconds quicker than Holly, but dropped down the order with four faults at the penultimate fence
