Midlands Camp

Wednesday 06 June 2018

Half Term saw this years MIdlands Academy Camp take place at Weston Lawns Equitation again. The centre in Bulkington is perfectly situated to attract riders from the Warwickshire, Staffordshire & Worcestershie area academies.

The camp grew in numbers this year and even more activities were added to the line up. Camp was organised by lead coaches for Area 33 Hannah Jackson & 30 Sam Scott with the superb Richard Seals as the third coach.

Riders had ridden training in groups selected on height and experience on both days, along with a critiqued full round and jump off in the main arena at Weston Lawns. In addition to that there were Equine Pilates, opportunity to speak to NAF and Allen & Page representatives including an opportunity to weigh their ponies on a weighbridge. NAF books were given out and filled in helping riders to navigate through their 5 star proficiancy awards and a step closer to the NAF goodies & free memberships available a differing stages.

At the end of the first day came the annual game of rounders which was almost hijacked by some very competitive parents, its not hard to see where the riders gained their competitive spirit!

All in all everyone had a fun time and hopefully whatever their level headed home feeling more confident about future shows. Academies offer support and training all year round and whether the rider is a beginner or an experienced competitior there is something for everyone.
