BRITISH SUCCESS IN CHANTILLY

The contingent of British riders competing at CSI4* Chantilly in France, enjoyed a weekend of success, with top ten finishes in six classes. With a total of over 200,000€ on offer, competition was hot and the Brits held their own to bring home a large proportion of the prize money.
 
Laura Renwick from Maldon in Essex took victory in Friday’s 5,000€ Speed Competition riding Sandra Keaveney’s Beluga II, and then went on to win the 25,000€ Speed Competition aboard her own Limelight de Breve.
 
Phillip Spivey from Gayton in Northamptonshire took fifth place in Sunday’s 5,000€ Two Phase aboard Tracey Forrests’ Olymp and then partnered Romanov II, also owned by Tracey Forrest, to seventh place in the 80,000€ Grand Prix.
 
Guy Williams from Canterbury Kent riding his own Torinto van de Middelstede and William Funnell from Dorking, Surrey riding Julie Slade’s triple Hickstead Derby winner Mondriaan, took second and third places respectively in Friday’s 22,000€ Jump Off competition.
 
John Whitaker from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire finished in second place in yesterday’s 80,000€ Grand Prix. John rode Mandy Hall’s Casino to one of just three double clears of the competition to pocket the 14,400€ prize. John also took fourth place in the 7 Year Old competition with Keeley Durham’s Argento.

Twenty-one year old Kayleigh Watts from Hertfordshire finsihed secnd in the CSI1* Grand Prix, jumping a double clear aboard Mandy Hall's Tipper II.

Elsewhere in Europe, Ellen Whitaker continues her good form in Arezzo, finishing third in the 25,000€ Grand Prix aboard Dawn Makin and Steven Whitaker's Equimax Ocolado.  Whilst Jane Davies also finished in third position in the 30,000€ Pinerolo Grand Prix riding her own Patrick VII.
