Applications now open for the BEF England Excel Talent Programme

The newly launched BEF England Excel Talent Programme has been created to support young, gifted riders succeed in their goals to be the stars of tomorrow. The aim of the programmes is to produce a pool of up and coming, talented riders across the England Regions who are not currently on the BEF's World Class Programme.

The idea that has been taken from the success of the Regional Foundation squads intends to offer encouragement and guidance for young and aspiring riders by providing the opportunity for selected applicants to access top equestrian specialists including coaches, physiotherapists, vets and nutritionists through a series of high quality performance camps.

The BEF England Talent Programme has been set up through funding from Sport England and is being co-ordinated by the BEF, in partnership with the three Olympic disciplines of eventing, dressage, show jumping and one Paralympic discipline of para-equestrian dressage.

Young riders with ambitions to reach the top as a showjumping, dressage, para-equestrian dressage or event rider are encouraged to apply for a place on the BEF England Excel Talent Programme now.

Applications opened on Monday 1st August and riders should be between 16 and 24 years old on first application. Applications close on 31st August and no application received after this date will be considered.

Please note, without exception, ALL successful applicants will need to attend an Excel Talent Programme induction day on Thursday 20th October 2011 (close to the BEF main office, Kenilworth, Warwickshire).
