Doobally wins the Horse & Hound Foxhunter second round

The Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead hosted a Horse & Hound Foxhunter second round last week. With the first two combinations qualifying for the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) and the top five qualifying for the Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival the competition was strong.

It was Huddersfield based twenty one year old Joe Clayton who came out on top and took the first HOYS ticket. Riding the seven year old bay gelding Doobally who is owned by Michael Whitaker, Joe put in a superb round to take the win. Coming home in second place was twenty one year old Daniel Moseley from Nottingham. Partnering the six year old chestnut stallion Billy Mexico Daniel picked up the other HOYS ticket.

The remaining Cushionbed British Showjumping Scope Festival qualifiers were third placed Damien Charles from Surrey, riding Kay Mason’s eight year old black gelding The Processor. Fourth place went to Cheshire based Jonna Ekberg riding James Davenport’s seven year old bay stallion Deko De Landetta Z. The final qualifying place went to fifth position Matthew Boddy from South Humberside riding Morgan Kent’s seven year old bay gelding Zuccero.
