Talent Bubbles to the Top in The Champagne Cave National Senior Rider Championship Final

The Andrews Bowen Indoor Arena played host to some spectacular competitive events today, one of which being The Champagne Cave National Senior Rider Championship Final. The level of talent was exceptionally high and each performance gave the crowd a reason to get excited.

The competition was opened by Julie Austin from Birmingham, West Midlands riding Joan Willetts 14 year-old chestnut mare Inquest II, who showed great technique from the offset, but it was Amanda Mcglynn from Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire riding her own 10 year-old bay mare Andromeda III who ultimately soared to victory. Although the combinations were impressive, only three riders made it through to the jump off.

The first to jump was Julie Austin who had 4 faults with her horse Inquest II. Next to go was Sally Swiers who managed a clear round in 42.45s, but it was Amanda Mcglynn who proved to be unbeatable with a time of 38.08s.

The win marked an additional achievement for Amanda who bred Andromeda III herself, the first horse she ever bred. Andromeda III is now 10 years old and proving to be a very talented mare with a promising career ahead of her.

Amanda was thrilled with her win saying “It’s fantastic, it’s been a long time since I have had a sash on”. The Champagne Cave National Senior Rider Championship Final provided an exciting class for all spectators and exhibited some incredible senior talent.
