Ben Maher MBE takes the top spot in the CSI 3* €130,000 Grand Prix in Guangzhou, China.

Olympic and European Team Gold Medal winner Ben Maher MBE with his allocated horse Vainqueur a 16 year-old bay stallion owned by Jean Van der Liden were victorious in the 1.50m €130,000 Guangzhou Grand Prix that took place yesterday (7th December 2014).
Out of a field of thirty – one competitors, only four managed to jump clear in the first round. Jumping the only double clear of the competition, Ben and Vainqueur ensured that the victory was theirs. Second place went to Germany’s Eva Bitter with Branca and third place went to Italy’s Jerry Smit with Washington.

Dutch based British rider Mark Bunting with the 9 year-old bay gelding Eurohill’s Alcatraz finished third in the CSI 2* Lichtenvoorde (Netherlands) Grand Prix yesterday. They gained a double clear in 31.84 seconds just behind Ireland’s Bertram Allen and Germany’s Tim Rieskamp-Godeking.
Wiltshire based Jessica Mendoza with Spirit T a 13 year-old brown mare jointly owned by Sarah Mendoza and John Roberts took the top spot in the CSI 2* Paris Land Rover Grand Prix that was held in France yesterday (7th December). Jessica and Spirit T took first place after jumping double clear in 39.12 seconds, just 0.08 seconds ahead of French rider Timothee Anciaume with Olympique Libellule and Cindy van der Straten-Marie with Christinas Sport Zep who took third.
Deborah Jackson with Limbutina an 11 year-old chestnut mare finished second in the CSI 1* Lichtenvoorde Grand Prix which took place on Saturday (6th December) in Holland. She jumped double clear in 34.13 seconds just behind Germany’s Marcus Ehning. Dutch rider Dominique Roelofsen finished in third.
