Pony 5 Star

The PONY Five Star Performance Awards are designed as a series of progressive standards which provide pony riders with; a focus for their training, improved performance in the ring and improved stable management skills.

Pony 5 Star Performance

The PONY Five Star Performance Awards start from instilling the correct basics and fundamentals through to encouraging young riders progression onto competitive pony riding through to supporting their step onto horses. The aim of the programme is also to instil stable management knowledge, respect of the rules as well as ethics of sportsmanship and recognition of good performance over results all of which can be delivered through the Junior Academies.

The PONY Five Star Performance Awards are set to help all pony members to achieve their full potential while giving recognition for their achievements along the way.

Each level of award requires you to; set personal goals, achieve ridden skills, and answer questions correctly. The awards encourage basic riding standards and knowledge of horse care, rules and equitation. The awards also provide preparation for riders who wish to compete on Home Pony National teams and FEI International teams.

Depending on your age and experience you may begin at the level appropriate to your riding ability, riding and stable management knowledge & skills and your experience. This can be discussed with your British Showjumping coach so that you enter at the level which is appropriate for you and your pony.  If you do not start at One Star it is your responsibility to ensure that you complete the questions in the levels below the level you are starting.

Level 1 – An introductory achievement level for junior riders new to the sport of Showjumping

Level 4 – For Junior riders with a broad range of experience in Showjumping, who can prepare themselves and their pony for consistency in competition and can demonstrate knowledge in achieving this.

Level 5 – Aimed at Junior riders who demonstrate consistent preparation and are a role model for other juniors  within the sport.
