British Showjumping Apprenticeship Programme

Monday 07 August 2017

Haddon Training are working in partnership with British Showjumping to deliver an innovative Showjumping Apprenticeship for riders aged 16-18 year olds, starting in September 2017.

Haddon Training is launching this unique apprenticeship programme that will give riders priority selection into the British Showjumping Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence (AASE) which will be available in September 2018. This apprenticeship programme is equivalent to achieving two A levels and provides individuals with confidence, competence and commercial speed needed to start a successful career within the equine industry.

To be eligible for this programme, you must be employed, have a contract of employment and work at least 30 hours per week. This interim work based training programme will include four residential camps where you will receive Showjumping coaching and development and complete a number of short courses/additional qualifications which include some of the below:

  • UKCC Level 1 in Coaching
  • First Aid Course
  • Groom Clean
  • Prevent Training
  • Young Equestrian Leader Award

You will also receive monthly visits from a vocationally experienced Trainer/Coach who will support you in the work place.

Due to recent reforms within apprenticeship funding, there will be no AASE programme launching in 2017. However, those who complete this Showjumping Apprenticeship will receive priority selection if you meet the entry requirements for the British Showjumping AASE programme launching in 2018.
