Isobel Loadman becomes April’s NAF Shining Star

Fourteen year-old Isobel Loadman from Grimsby, South Humberside becomes April’s NAF Shining Star against stiff competition as all British Showjumping Junior Academy Members are eligible for nomination. This Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Academy member shone through following her continued display of determination to improve both herself and her pony’s way of going.

Isobel was nominated for the award by lead coach Joanne Burns Firth who said the following about her nominee “I would like to nominate Isobel because she always gives 100% in her lessons at the Academy and takes part in all the activities. She works hard on her 5* booklet and often sends me videos of her homework and keeps in touch with her progress. Isobel is a real trier and a truly deserving NAF Shining Star!”

After becoming a British Showjumping Member in 2014 Isobel’s rider career has come on in leaps and bounds. Upon finding out about the award a very excited Isobel said “I am so pleased to have been given this award, I put loads of hard work in at academy training and at home to improve my performance at competitions so it is great to get this recognition. This season I am stepping up to Pony Newcomers and hoping to qualify for the British Showjumping National Championships, it is great to know I have the support of my coach Joanne and friends at the academy in making this move. I love attending the academy as it is a great place to working not just on my jumping but also on flat work and achieve my NAF 5* Performance Awards, I am currently working towards level 4.”

Melissa Newman, NAF Brand Manager, added “It is great to hear that Isobel uses video as a means to help her and her trainer to analyse her performance and how much effort she puts in to her academy sessions. A well-deserved Shining Star, Well done Isobel!”

Isobel will kindly receive some NAF equine products to use alongside the supplements that she currently uses, including Superflex and Gastro Aid.

The NAF Shining Star Award was introduced when NAF became a British Showjumping Business Partner. The award is for members of a Junior Academy who have shown a great deal of commitment, progression and outstanding behaviour along with their riding ability and much more. Riders are nominated by their lead coach, and then judged and awarded by NAF to one person each month.
