Lee Williams Wins Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre

Seventy-four combinations started out over the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Second Round track at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire and the class proved to be closely fought.

Each and every starter was hoping to secure one of the two coveted direct qualifying places on offer for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final at Horse of the Year Show and following two well-fought rounds of competition, seven combinations remained in contention. The final jump off saw three treble clears produced but with just the two qualification places available, the allocation of these came down to the all-important clock.

West Sussex based rider Lee Williams was on board Charlotte Platt’s 7 year-old bay stallion Jenson 55 and he took victory after clocking up the fastest treble clear of the class.  Their third and final foot perfect round was delivered in 48.56 seconds.

Second place was taken by Robert Whitaker from Sidcup, Kent on Brendon Stud’s 7 year-old bay stallion Fabric Van Overis. Three accurate rounds from this combination saw them finish on a treble clear in 49.53 seconds.

With the two direct qualifying tickets for the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Championship Final already allocated, the combinations in third to fifth took home the chance to compete in the Horse & Hound Senior Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships.
