Thursday 02 November 2017

British Showjumping, in conjunction with Sport England is delighted to announce the next cohort of riders selected on to the ‘Step Up to Gold’ Programme.

Eight riders have now been selected to come forward on to the programme following on from the four training and selection days held last month. This year saw the age range for the programme altered to 16-30 years so that this now sits directly under the BEF Excel Talent Programme for rider development.

The training programme will focus on developing riders in order for them to be able to make the transition into competing or establishing themselves at 1.40m+. British Showjumping will also continue to work alongside Hartpury College providing Strength and Conditioning and Rider Therapy throughout the programme.

Based on a similar structure to last year, there will be three National Training days held during the course of the programme. Along with competing at International Shows both abroad and in the UK with support from the lead coach Matt Lanni and their home based coaches.

The selected riders are as follows:

Anja Moret
Ashlea Silk Jones
Ellen McPherson
Emily Seal
India Bussey
Kellie Taylor
Sadie Lupson
Sammy Borthwick

If you are interested in being involved with this training programme, the applications for the fourth cohort of this programme will open around August 2018.
