The Hartpury Showjumping Spectacular

Hartpury College hosted their Showjumping Spectacular over the weekend which saw top riders from across the country competing at this three day show. The schedule included a small tour and a big tour for the top competitors both culminating in a Grand Prix.

The Superflex Small Tour Grand Prix saw seventy seven starters battle it out for the top prize. It was 18 year old Carian Scudamore from Dyfed that came out on top riding her father Nigel’s 11 year old bay mare Angel III. Picking up second and third place was Hampshire based Sam Hutton. Riding his mother Wendy’s 11 year old grey mare For A Smile he came in second, whilst it was the 9 year old grey gelding Valentino VII owned jointly by Sharifa Al-Homaizi and Tony Newbery that picked up third place.

The Dodson and Horrell Big Tour Grand Prix saw some equally hot competition with Hampshire based Peter Charles coming out on top. Partnering Olga White and Team Murka Ltd’s ten year old chestnut stallion Murkas Nevada VI Peter took the win. In second place was Oxfordshire based Tina Fletcher riding the 8 year old bay gelding Hello Boyo jointly owned by Lady Pauline Harris and Lady Pauline Kirkham. Tina also picked up fourth and fifth place riding Hello Unique and Ursula XII. Splitting Tina’s rides in third place was Buckingham based Simon Crippen riding Judy Ross’ 9 year old chestnut mare Ondine Du Logis.
