Robert Murphy & Highcross Violet win the Opglabbeek CSIYH1* 7 Year Old Grand Prix

Eighteen year-old Robert Murphy from Preston, Lancashire took a convincing win on Sunday in the Opglabbeek CSIYH1* 7 Year Old Grand Prix at Sentower Park in Belgium. Robert headed the Grand Prix on Highcross Violet, a 7 year-old grey mare owned by Elizabeth Jackson and Peter Murphy.

The Grand Prix was the culmination of a successful week for Robert and Highcross Violet who produced clear rounds in each of the three 7 Year Old classes. In Sunday’s competition, the pair were the eventual winners of the forty-seven strong class and Robert put the pressure on the fourteen other combinations in the jump off by producing a fantastic double clear in 39.18 seconds from first draw.

Robert and Highcross Violet beat two Germans to the top of the podium with Sophie Hinners and Frederick Troschke finishing in second and third on Giolita and Lanthaga 2 respectively.
