Shaunie Greig claims her third ticket whilst Tatiane Mauree seals her first win in the Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers at Morris Equestrian Centre

The 2019 Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifiers headed North this weekend to Morris Equestrian Centre in Kilmarnock, Scotland and they were held during the 148cm Pony Premier Show.
The qualifiers took place over two days and saw all riders from all over the UK come forward with the hopes of securing a top three qualifying place for the prestigious Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Championship, which will take place at SouthView Competition & Training Centre in Cheshire across the weekend of the 6th – 7th April 2019.
Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Saturday 16th February 2019
Shaunie Greig from Aberdeenshire claimed her third Championship Final ticket with a win in Saturday’s qualifier on board Linda Billington’s 18 year-old bay mare, Quilitymaes Z. The three qualifying tickets were claimed by the only three riders able to jump clear around Ian Clark’s first round track.
With Anoushka Mauree faulting in the first jump-off when the second part of the final combination fell, it was left to Elsi Jacques and Shaunie Greig to battle it out in the final jump-off. It was Shaunie who came out on top, posting 4 faults in a time of 38.84 seconds whilst Elsi and Danielle Piecha’s Westward Sunshine crossed the finish line in 34.27 seconds with 8 faults.

Charles Britton Equestrian Construction Winter JA Classic Qualifier – Sunday 17th February 2019
Not to be outdone by her sister’s qualification from the previous day, Tatiane Mauree from Newbury, Berkshire made a successful step up to Winter JA Classic competition when she took the win in Sunday’s qualifier with Horseabout Zibu, a 9 year-old bay mare owned by her mother Arlina.
Five of the initial competitors accessed the first jump-off and the qualifying tickets were easily decided when three of those combinations progressed into the final jump-off. Rachel Proudley was first to go with Family Affaer II and set out to apply pressure from the start crossing the finish line in 39.14 seconds but picked up 4 faults along the way. Lila Bremner and Lapislazuli opted for a safe clear coming home in 41.13 seconds. This piled the pressure onto last to go, Tatiane, who managed to leave all of the fences standing whilst crossing the finish line in 39.12 seconds.
