Weston Lawns Equitation Centre Pony Premier Show

It was a busy Bank Holiday weekend at Weston Lawns Equitation Centre in Warwickshire as they held the first of this summer’s Pony Premier Shows. The changeable weather didn’t stop pony riders from all over the country giving spectators a treat as they battled it out for the qualification places on offer.

HOYS 128cm Qualifier – Sunday 30th April 2017

It was 11 year-old Charlie Atkinson from Billingham, Cleveland who took top spot on board Craig Scott’s 16 year-old liver chestnut gelding Bunbury Conquest. The pair produced a clean treble clear to stop the clock in 40.99 seconds.

The top three combinations took home a place in the HOYS 128cms Championship Final held at the prestigious Horse of the Year Show in October.

2nd Olivia Banks & Remington Seal – 0/0/0 – 47.50 seconds

3rd Oliver Fry & Colliyers Pal Joey – 0/0/0 – 55.60 seconds

 

Pony Foxhunter Second Round – Monday 1st May 2017

After producing three strong clear rounds, 15 year-old Lily Freeman Attwood from Shrewsbury, Shropshire shot into first place riding Emily Freeman Attwood’s 6 year-old bay gelding, Capability Brown. This partnership crossed the finish line in 45.70 seconds.

The top three combinations secured a ticket straight to October’s Pony Foxhunter Championship Final at the Horse of the Year Show, whilst the rider and ponies placed fourth and fifth took home the chance to compete in the Pony Foxhunter Masters at the British Showjumping National Championships in August.

2nd Alice Weightman & Cindy VI – 0/0/0 – 46.27 seconds

3rd Cleo Loizzo & Banner Girl – 0/0/0 - 47.01 seconds

4th Izzy Goddard & Strawberry Rojo – 0/0/4 – 45.90 seconds

5th Alice Weightman & Epapke – 0/4 – 42.06 seconds

 

Pony Showjumper of the Year – Monday 1st May 2017

Fourteen year-old Ffion Roberts took victory in the Pony Showjumper of the Year qualifier on board Rich Faith, a 13 year-old bay mare owned by Joan Roberts. This combination produced the only clear round of the class, crossing the finish line in 86.88 seconds.

The top three went on to secure the Horse of the Year Show places available, whilst the pair in fourth took home the chance to compete at the British Showjumping National Championships.

1st Ffion Roberts & Rich Faith – 0 - 86.88 seconds

2nd Molly Davies & Cuffesgrange For Sure – 4 – 78.86 seconds

3rd Shaunie Greig & Casino Royale VIII – 4 – 79.86 seconds

4th Madison Jamison & Bodyssee Des Avelines – 4 – 81.98 seconds
